I'm a winPenPack.com developer.
winPenPack (http://www.winpenpack.com and http://sourceforge.net/projects/winpenpack) is a free and open source project aimed to spread the use of portable software.

I'd like to signal you that we have developed a portable version of TuxGuitar (called X-TuxGuitar) without any kind of modifications or reverse engineering made on program files and in compliance with original installation status. Our policy is to apply our technology only to open source programs, due to the freedom given by that kind of license.

I hope the TuxGuitar Portable package does not represent for you any kind of violation of program's license (I have noticed that TuxGuitar is released under GPL) and, in this case, I'm glad to post the link to X-TuxGuitar Portable in winPenPack.com Format: http://www.winpenpack.com/main/download.php?view.1089 (just download the .zip archive, uncompress and double-click on X-TuxGuitar.exe).

Obviously, any suggestion or feedback will be welcome! :)

Technical details about the portable version
in winPenPack.com format:

- at X-TuxGuitar first run, the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is automatically downloaded and extracted in X-TuxGuitarLibJava folder (but only if JRE is not present in this directory). In this way anyone can use TuxGuitar even if Java is not installed in the host pc;

- the "-Duser.home" parameter has been set: all settings are stored in UserTuxGuitar directory;

- the "history.path" has been set to the Documents directory;

- all history.properties paths are normalized when the drive letter or the software position changes (but only if files are saved in USB Stick's folders - Bin, User, Documents, etc..).
